Pictured is polychrome decoration on the East wall of the 1st chamber TT218, the Tomb of Amennakht in Deir el-Medina, Egypt. The major Egyptian goddess Hathor is depicted as a cow, symbolizing her maternal and celestial aspect. A sun disk is between her horns. Amennakht was an Ancient Egyptian artisan and was called a Servant in the Place of Truth, as were other artisans who lived in Deir el-Medina and decorated tombs in the Valley of the Kings. His wife was Imyway and they had two sons who were also artisans, Nebenmatt buried with his wife Mertseger in TT219, and Khaemteri buried in TT220. The tombs shared a forecourt and three chapels.
