The broom fish, also known as the brushmouth fish, belongs to the Loricariidae family, the Hypostominae sub-family and the Hypostomus genus. Brushmouth fish live on the bottom of the water and are omnivores that like algae that stick to rocks and other aquatic plants, and are active at night.
