Plataresti Monastery is a monastery of Orthodox confession, located in the canonical subordination of the Bishopric of Slobozia and Calarasi. The monastery was founded by the Lord of the Romanian Country Matei Basarab and his wife Elina, in 1632, the stone church of the monastery was built between 1642-1646 by the same Lord and consecrated on April 3, 1646. The monastery is located in the south part of the town of Plataresti. from Calarasi county
