In the 1980s, the square was developed into a transport hub. It was developed at the intersection of roads, including national road No. 8 and a street running from the W-Z route. The intersection was to be an important element of the unrealized north-south route. It includes one overpass over the intersection and a system of pedestrian underpasses. Currently, the local spatial development plan provides for the location of downtown buildings in this area, which requires the demolition of the buildings located here.
