Latacunga, Ecuador 30 September, 2012: Unidentified participants parade pigs adorned with fruits, spirits, flags and guinea pigs at La Fiesta de la Mama Negra traditional festival. Mama Negra Festival is a mixture of indigenous, Spanish and African influences and celebrates the patron saint Virgen de la Merced supposedly stopping the 1742 eruption of nearby volcano Cotopaxi, leaving Latacunga unharmed.
