The land crossed by Confederate soldiers during the action called Pickett`s Charge into artillery and musket fire uphill against the Union Army during the Civil War battle at Gettysburg. Many confederate soldiers were killed, wounded, and captured. The site is preserved as part of the Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.
