100 mph winds tore a huge portion of roof from a new multi story apartment building in Phoenix, Arizona. This section of roof landed in the center of Central Avenue; stopped only by the citys new light rail power lines. The light rail is due to open in December, 2008. 50,000 homes were without electricity following the storm.
