This is a rack of Peat (turf), used in Ireland for fuel. Peat (turf) is an accumulation of partially decayed vegetation or organic matter that is unique to natural areas called peatlands or mires. These are oblong bars of densely compressed, dried, and shredded peat and usually cut by hand.
