Originally a remote habitat of the Tuvans, cattle-herding nomads of Mongolian, Turkic and Samoyedic origin, Hemu Village is nestled within the grasslands of the Altay Mountains of northern Burqin County. The village has been developed into a tourist attraction over the years and sees many visitors in the summer and autumn months.
