Located near modern day Pamukkale, Hierapolis was an ancient Greco-Roman city located in southwest Anatolia, Turkey. The Saint Philip Martyrium was named after the Christian apostle Philip and stands on top of the hill outside the northeastern section of the city walls. It dates from the 5th century CE.
