Tanacetum coccineum, commonly called the spotted daisy or pyrethrrum, is an erect, bushy perennial that typically grows 2-3` tall. It is native to southwest Asia. Synonymous and formerly known as Chrysanthemum coccineum. Daisy like single sometimes double flowers up to 3` in diameter feature white, pink or red rays and central yellow discs. The flowers bloom in early summer atop wiry stems rising above a mound of foliage consisting of soft green leaves, finely divided, strongly aromatic, like ferns. Lower leaves grow up to 10` in long petioles. The upper leaves are much shorter and sessile.
