Pacing, known by the scientific name Costus speciosus, is one of the many plants used in healing. Pacing is often found on the island of Java and generally grows in tropical climates with high humidity. The pacing habitat is in a fertile, organic-rich, moist and shady place. This plant also grows wild under tall plants such as in primary forests, secondary forests and teak forests. Or in the lowlands up to a height of 1,050 meters above sea level. The stem is brownish yellow, as big as an adult's finger and contains a lot of water and is easy to break, aligned with the stem, the leaves are green, single, the stem is short and the leaves are elongated to lanceolate.The regional names in Java are pacing, plain flour, poncang-pancing, and bunto, in Sumatra it is called tabar-tabar, kelacim, setawar, bargain-tawar, plain cane, tubu-tubu, sitawar, tawa-tawa, and totar. In Sulawesi, people call it lingkuwas, lincuas, palai Batang, tampung bargaina, galoba utan or flour flour, while Maluku people call it muri-muri, tebe pusa, tehu lopu, uga-uga and tehe tepu
