Fort Bard in Aosta valley, remained almost intact from the time of its construction, is one of the best examples of the fortress of the dam of the early nineteenth century. The fortress consists of three main buildings, places at different levels, between 400 and 467 meters: lowest, the Opera Ferdinando, the median, the Opera Vittorio, and the highest, the Opera Carlo Alberto for a total of 283 rooms.
