The distribution of Oriental Spruce (Picea orientalis) is local. It spreads naturally in the coastal areas of Northeastern Anatolia and the Caucasus. It starts from the Turkey-Georgia border in Turkey and ends with the Melet River near Ordu province in the west. In this part (Colchis) it is seen mostly on the northern slopes of the mountains facing the sea.
