The Opuntia ficus-indica cactus can reach five meters in height and has leaves in the form of flat, oval discs that can grow to the size of a tennis racket. Its flowers vary in color and size. They are white, yellow, orange or purple. At the bottom, the flower thickens into an egg-shaped berry. The inside of the fruit often has the same color as the flower.
