The Oudegracht in the Dutch city of Utrecht is a canal going through the heart of the city, with shops and restaurants on both sides. Halfway there is the Kalisbridge or Visbrug, where in the early thirteenth century fish was traded. A new fish auction house (on the left) was placed on the bridge in 1942. Nowadays there is no longer fishmongers at the Fish Market; the last shop closed its doors in 1970.
