Le Puy Cathedral (Notre Dame de Puy-en-Velay, France) is one of the most important cathedrals of France from ancient times. The cathedral was build in modules starting from the 5th century, although most of its part dates from the 12th century. Most of the construction is made using the local volcanic rocks, which gives it a dark and gloomy appearance. The cathedral is an important pilgrimage church and the start of an important route of Santiago de Compostela. HDR image
