San Francisco's Board of Supervisors passed the law, on a veto-proof 8-to-3 vote. San Francisco, Los Angeles, is the first major US city to pass legislation clamping down on the practice of giving away free toys with unhealthy meals for children. The law takes effect on 1 December 2010.
