Egongyan Bridge, connecting Jiulongpo District and South Bank District, is located on Jiulong Beach on the Yangtze River in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing City, adjacent to Kowloon Railway Station and Jiulong Port. Construction started in December 1997 with a total investment estimate of RMB 1.41 billion. The bridge is 2.7 kilometers long, of which the main bridge is 1420 meters long, the main bridge is 1022 meters long and the main span is 600 meters. The bridge is a gate-type double-tower suspension bridge with a main tower of 163.9 meters high. Completed in 2000 and opened to traffic. The Egongyan Rail Bridge is a controlled project of the southern ring of the Chongqing Rail Transit Circle Line. It is located approximately 45 meters upstream of the Egongyan Yangtze River Bridge highway bridge. Five-span continuous steel box girder self-anchored suspension bridge with a main span of 600 meters. Its span ranks the forefront of the world`s rail suspension bridges, and it is also the world`s largest self-anchored suspension bridge with the largest main span. Because the bridge needs to be converted by the system of `stayed cable first and then suspended cable` before it can be finally completed, the construction process is complicated and the technical content is high. In July 2019, the laying of the Egongyan Track Bridge was completed and the trial operation of the track loop began.
