Newgrange is a prehistoric monument located in County Meath, on the eastern side of Ireland, about one kilometre north of the River Boyne. An example of a megalithic passage tomb mound, Newgrange was built between circa 3100 and 2900 BCE, during the Neolithic period, in order to house the remains of the dead. It has also been speculated that it had some form of religious sign
