This rather plain building by noted architect August Nordin is important to San Francisco history more for its own history then its looks. To save room inside the building, instead of using support columns,Nordin employed the still rather new Howe Truss, normally used on bridges, for supports. Finished only seven months after the 1906 Earthquake and fire, the building was used as a meeting place for several of the cities fraternal organizations. Also, the very famous Visalia Stock Saddle Company worked out of here between 1911 and 1953. As seen 20 September 2023.
