Pictured is a mural titled Amerie's Art by Cristina Sosa Noriega on the outside of a building in Uvalde, Texas. This mural is near a large scale mural of Amerie Jo Garza also completed by Noriega, for the Healing Uvalde Mural Project. This project honored the nineteen children and two teachers killed in the horrific shooting massacre at the Robb Elementary School on May 24th, 2022. In the wake of the mass shooting, 21 portrait artists transformed Uvalde's downtown, creating 21 murals. Each mural honored a victim and was painted by the artist in collaboration with the family to humanize the victim and remember and celebrate their life.
