An overnight outbreak of the Myxomycota plasmodium commonly called slime mold in the genus Fuligo. These are harmless and can be shades of yellow to red and fade to tan cream brown as they dry. They appear often on garden mulch in spring or summer after periods of rain. They are sometimes called dog vomit fungus.
