Mud Mud dauber is a name commonly applied to a number of wasps in either the Sphecidae or Crabronidae families that build their nests out of mud; it does not include members of the Vespidae family, which are instead referred to as & x22;pottery wasps& x22;. Mud daubers belong to different families and vary in appearance.
