163424 delivered to the USMC in August 1988, and assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 223 (VMA-223) at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. It was then assigned to VMA-542, also at Cherry Point, and flew combat in Desert Storm. Re-assigned to VMA-223. By 1999 it was assigned to VMA-203, also at Cherry Point until being struck of strength in September 2004. The airframe was still being used for parts and/or training when observed in the AV-8 maintenance hangar at Cherry Point in 2012.
