Mount Tangkuban Perahu is a volcano located in West Java, Indonesia. This mountain has a height of around 2,084 meters above sea level. Its unique shape and resembling an upside-down boat makes it a popular tourist attraction in the Bandung area. Mount Tangkuban Perahu has several craters that are still active, including Kawah Ratu, Kawah Upas, and Crater Domas. These craters emit sulfur gas which provides a distinctive aroma and interesting views. Kawah Ratu is the largest and most famous crater among other craters. Apart from its natural beauty, Mount Tangkuban Perahu also has important historical value. According to legend, this mountain is the place where the tragic love story between Sangkuriang and Dayang Sumbi occurred. This story can also be seen in the form of mountain topography that resembles an overturned boat. Mount Tangkuban Perahu can be reached easily via the highway from Bandung City. Around the mountain there are facilities such as parking lots, food stalls and places selling souvenirs. Visitors can also do trekking or walk around the crater to enjoy the natural beauty offered by this mountain.
