The most prominent feature in the Central Oregon Cascades is Mount Jefferson. At 10,495 feet above sea level, Mount Jefferson is a dormant volcano that remains snow-covered all year long. The mountain bears several prominent glaciers as well. It stands in the midst of the Mount Jefferson National Wilderness Area.
