The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, in english the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Flower, or Duomo, as it is ordinarily called, is the main church of Florence, one of Italy's largest churches. The exterior of the basilica is faced with polychrome marble panels in various shades of green and pink bordered by white. The mosaic in the lunette above the door of the main portal is designed by Niccolo Barabino and represent Christ enthroned with Mary and John the Baptist.
