Pictured is the mosaic from the Old Testament sacrifice of Isaac in the Basilica of San Vitale in Ravenna, Italy. The sixth-century church was consecrated by Archbishop Maximian in 547 AD. According to legend it was build on the site of the martyrdom of Saint Vitale. It is one of eight structures in Ravenna inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
