The common grackle (Quiscalus quiscula) is a large icterid found in large numbers through much of North America. Common grackles are found in much of North America east of the Rocky Mountains. The common grackle forages on the ground, in shallow water, or in shrubs it may steal food from other birds. It is omnivorous, eating insects, minnows, frogs, eggs, berries, seeds, grain, and even small birds and mice.This common grackle was perched atop a clipped branch, subjected to the rainy weather. His dark yet vibrant, shimmering colors stood out in the gray day.
