The monument to the dead of World War I in Nîmes, like all those of France, recalls the sacrifice of one million four hundred thousand men fell on the field of honor. A lot of them were missing in the trenches, buried under mortar fire. This war memorial, sign of gratitude of the population, is also the tomb of the dead unburied.
