San Martín de Castañeda is a Spanish town in the municipality of Galende, in the province of Zamora in the autonomous community of Castilla y León.In the year 916, according to Gómez Moreno, or in 897, according to Miguel Fernández de Prada, the monastery is apparently restored by Abbot Martino and a group of Mozarabic monks from San Cebrián de Mazote (Valladolid).
