Chac-mool statue .Playa Chac Mool was named after a pre-Columbian Mesoamerican stone statue that can be found throughout Yucatan and central Mexico. This mysterious figure is always seen in a reclining position holding a bowl or tray on its stomach, and can be found at famous Maya sites like Chichen Itza, Tula, and even Quirigua in the country of Guatemala. The statue is also present at archaeological sites in Tlaxcala and Mexico City. The significance behind the figure of Chac Mool remains unknown to this day, but its importance to ancient Mesoamerican culture is certain.
