An honor guard of local firefighters and police officers lead a procession including over 1,000 Patriot Guard and Rolling Thunder motorcycle riders to welcome home SFC Donnie Shue, U.S. Army Special Operations Group (SOG), who went Missing in Action (MIA) in Laos during the Vietnam War. His remains were positively identified nearly 42 years later, and were being returned to his family for burial April 30th, 2011. Thousands of people participated in the memorial parade and lined the route to welcome SFC Shue back to the town where he was born (Concord, NC) and the neighboring town that he lived in when he enlisted in the Army (Kannapolis, NC).
