The Castle of MontsonÃs is located in the town of MontsonÃs, in the municipality of Foradada, province of Lérida, Spain. Together with the rest of the fortresses built in the area, it defended the border between the `Old Catalonia` and the `New` for 125 years, until the definitive conquest of Lérida in 1149.
