McCovey Cove is the unofficial name for the China Basin part of the San Francisco Bay right next to the San Francisco Giants baseball park Oracle Park. It is named in honor of long time first baseman and winning left handed hitter Willie McCovey. The park first opened in 2000, then rebuilt in 2024. Besides a statute of the parks namesake Willie McCovey with a plaque on each of the four sides of the pedestal with the statistics of the man, one can have a very pleasant stroll around the park on game day, or off. As seen 1 May 2024.
