This historically beautiful and interesting Malloch Building at 1360 Montgomery Street along the equally beautiful and interesting Filbert Steeps of the Telegraph Hill neighborhood in San Francisco was built in 1937 for the father and son architects Jack and John Malloch. For a long time it was thought it was also designed by them because the real designer, Irving Goldstein, trained in Paris, was not yet licensed in this country, could not show his name on the documents. It is so famous it has been used in several movies, going back to the 1947 Dark Passages, staring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Also known as the Ocean Liner House, it is also famous for the art work prominently on the buildings exterior. As enjoyed March 2018 and 10 April 2024.
