Red-winged starling (Onychognathus morio) is a member of starling family Sturnidae. It is native to eastern Africa from Ethiopia to the Cape in South Africa. Males have mainly iridescent black plumage, with chestnut flight feathers, which are particularly noticeable in flight. Females have ash-grey head and upper breast. An omnivorous, generalist species, it has a number of whistled calls.
