Majorera donkey is indigenous to the Canary Islands. It is an endangered breed under special protection, in danger of extinction - There are approximately 200 of them; almost all are on Fuerteventura. The donkeys are tame and friendly. They enjoy being fed apples and bananas. The tourists are relatively rare at Covid times, so donkeys are looking for food presents and `hunt` the visitors
