The Magnolia x veitchii is named for Peter Veitch, who in 1907 who created this while at Londons Royal Nurseries. The leaves start out with a purple tinge, turning a deeper green when mature. The tree blooms in March. As seen in the San Francisco Botanical Garden of Golden Gate Park 9 June 2022.
