I captured this single water lily leaf floating on the calm water of Cub Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado on an early fall afternoon. Water lilies abound on the surface of Cub Lake during the summer. However, by early fall all of the colorful flowers are gone, leaving only the large leaves on the surface. I liked the simplicity of this single leaf on the still, moody water.
