Stock Photo: Location Of Jacob Leese Warehouse San Francisco 3

Jacob Leese, who was only the second, permanent resident of Yerba Buena, which was to become San Francisco, had the forethought to construct a warehouse on the then shoreline of the tiny city, for all the goods that were to be shipped and traded around the world, to load the ships right at the waters edge. Due to extensive landfilling over the early decades of the city, all of the current buildings that are now at the intersection of Montgomery and Sacramento Streets were originally right at the cities edge, and the one on 505 Montgomery was originally the site of Jacob Leese warehouse. As seen 14 September 2022.
