Macro shot of a an old linotype hot metal system. This is a model one linotype hot metal linecasting machine which was designed at the turn of the 20th century and was a forerunner of more streamlined versions which have set type for newspapers for the past 80 years. It was used up to 1971 for appreciceship training.
