Small bore cannons of the Pre-Civil War, United States Army, stationed at Fort Kearney to protect settlers moving west on various trails. These canons were used against Native Americans in the struggle over Indian lands. Small and portable these cannons were easily transported with infantry and occasionally cavalry units on patrols and raids.
