Singer and actress Lillias White entertains in Shubert Alley in the heart of Manhattan`s theater district. The event, on May 28, 1997, was the Annual Stars in the Alley free lunchtime concert to promote the upcoming Tony Awards. Happily for Ms. White Broadway was abuzz on Sunday, June 1, 1997 when Lillias White walked off with her statuette, having won in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for her stellar work in `The Life.` In 2022 White joined the cast of the hit musical `Hadestown.`
