Pictured is a life-size bronze sculpture of Delaware Indian Chief Roasting Ear by Linda Lewis, part of an art piece titled `The Peace Circle` in historic Grapevine, Texas. Sam Houston, president of the Republic of Texas, met with the chiefs of 10 tribal nations in August of 1843 in what is now Grapevine. The Treaty of Bird`s Fort was negotiated with the Delaware, Chickasaw, Waco, Tawakani, Keechi, Caddo, Anadahkah, Ionie, Biloxi, and Cherokee. Artist and sculptor Linda Lewis is the owner and operator of the Grapevine Foundry. The `Peace Circle` was dedicated September 18th, 2021.
