English actress Lia Williams joins Irish film and stage actor Michael Gambon and American actor Michael Camargo in David Hare's 'Skylight' at the then Royale Theatre in Manhattan on December 11, 1996. The pair were taking their bows at the close of the performance. In his later years he attained greater fame for taking on the role of 'Professor Dumbledore' in several episodes of the 'Harry Potter' blockbuster series. Gambon's presence was amplified by his resonant bass baritone voice. Both Williams and Gambon were nominated for a Tony for their performance. Gambon had garnered 3 Olivier acting awards in London. Gambon died on September 27, 2023, in Witham, England, from pneumonia at the age of 82.
