The Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park San Francisco, originally the California Palace of the Legion of Honor,is part of the fine arts museum of the DeYoung Museum. The building is a full size scale model of the French pavilion from the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition, which intern was a three fourth scale model of the Palas de la Legion dHonneur in Paris, and a gift of the Spreckels sugar barons of San Francisco. Perched on top of a hill, you can come for just the commanding views of the city and Golden Gate, the art works surrounding you,or both, just to relax and enjoy. On either side of the building is a sculpture of Joan of Arch on one side, and El Cid on the other. In the parking lot across from the entrance is the large, red steel sculpture Pax Jerusalemme. As enjoyed 6 September 2023.
