Wood and metal carving is a Balinese tradition. Statues are generally associated with religion. The population of Bali is poor but tourism makes it possible to survive. Learning to work with wood is one of the issues for Indonesian youth and for women. Photo taken in August 2018 in a small craft factory above Ubud in Bali.
