The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a freestanding bell tower located in the Italian city of Pisa. The tower is famous for its unintended tilt to one side, which is caused by an unstable foundation in the soft ground. It was built in the 12th century as a part of the Pisa Cathedral complex and stands at a height of 56 meters. The tower has eight floors and is made of white marble, with a spiral staircase leading to the top. It was closed to the public in 1990 due to safety concerns, but was later reopened after extensive restoration work. Today, visitors can climb to the top for a panoramic view of Pisa and its surroundings.
